nVidia FX5500

Hi:

I had an Intel D845GLVA motherboard with a P4 2.4 GHz processor on which I
ran Windows XP Pro. The system had an nVidia FX5500 PCI 256MB video card (not
PCI Express, just plain PCI).

Couple of days ago, the motherboard fried when I tried to install more RAM.
So I bought the ASRock P4i65G motherboard and installed my P4 2.4 GHz
processor on it. I think this motherboard has problems. Windows XP just
doesn't display the red color. Please goto www.futureshop.ca. The reddish
colors appear as blue and Windows XP itself doesn't display any red colors.

My PCI video card had worked fine with the old Intel motherboard with nVidia
GeForce drivers. Does anyone have a suggestion? Should I return the ASRock
motherboard?

Thanks,

Jibey

This sounds like a monitor problem, try another monitor.
Also very carefully check the video cable connections.
sometimes a damaged pin can cause this.
Another possibility it the damaged motherboard took the video card with it.

It was a damaged pin on the monitor. I got it fixed. Everything works fine now.

Thanks.

That is what I thought.
Thanks for letting us know and I am glad you fixed it.
