nVidia driver issues with XP Pro/ XFX GeForce 5200 128Mb

Hi. I have just clean installed XP Pro on a (mostly) new
machine, including an XFX GeForce 5200 128Mb DDR AGP card.
All was well until installing the nVidia drivers that came
with the card - within seconds of any user logging in to
XP the system hangs and needs a hard reset. I have tried
three sets of drivers from XFX - all gave the same
problem. I've tested the card on a spare/ old motherboard,
with no problems. I've tested my main/ new motherboard
with my old 32Mb AGP, with no problems. XFX are yet to
respond to the tech support email. Has anyone any ideas,
or had any similar problems with a GeForce 5200 12Mb? Many
thanks, Rich

Thanks.

I have just downloaded the latest certified drivers
(v53.03) and installed - same error at the same point,
just seconds after logging in.

Could I have a faulty card?

System works fine with my old 32Mb TNT...

Rich,

I had a similar problem with a new build and a hanging
FX5600 last month. Try running 'memtest86' (download from
www.memtest86.com) and check your memory. I had a single
address line failure - changed the module and things
worked fine.

I can't get our Nvidia Geoforce 5200 card to work
properly . The device manager shows device can not start .
The troubleshooter only shows to uninstall and reinstall .
I have tried this with different drives all to the same
end ... still not working. HELP!!!
We just spent two weeks trying to get a video capture
device to work - had to purchase XP to get that to work ,
now our card doesn't seem to be working with XP .

Any suggestions appreciated .

Do your Motherboard and geforce voltages match up.
The 8x video cards need a .8 voltage in the AGP slot.
