Dear Scott,
Thank you for your post.
According to your description, my understanding is that:
You have one Lenovo ThinkPad T61 laptop with Intel Turbo Memory drive
installed. The NV Cache Volume on your laptop is used for ReadyBoost. You
now get the warning message saying that the NV Cache Volume is full.
If there is any misunderstanding, please let me know.
Analysis & Suggestions:
==============================
Windows ReadyBoost can use storage space on some removable media devices,
such as USB flash drives, to speed up your computer.
After some research, I find the information that Intel Turbo Memory
technology driver creates a new 512MB storage with the label name 'NVCACHE'
to enable ReadyBoost technology. This NV Cache Volume is not visible in
Computer ' s hard disk drives list. You could see it in Disk Management
console.
I recommend you try to change the space to reserve for ReadyBoost first.
Please do as follows:
1. Open Computer Management Console.
2. Click Disk Management in the left snap-in.
3. You will see the NV Cache Volume, right click this Volume and click
Properties.
4. Select the ReadyBoost tab and change the ' Space to reserve for system
speed' option to some value smaller than 450MB.
After that, please check whether the situation will improve.
Please note: This suggestion might not work due to third-party hardware
drive issue. If you could' t change the space to reserve for ReadyBoost on
NV Cache Volume, I recommend you contact to Lenovo directly. Please
understand that I don't intend to bounce you between different support
services. The hardware manufacturers should be the best support resources
for this kind of issue.
Your understanding are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Sincerely,
Neo Zhu,
