nv ide driver

I updated my nvidia amd nforce drivers with 6.86 nforce winxp
international. The nvidia ide driver didnt install properly and now I have
the microsoft ide and the nvidia sata. I tried to remove and reinstall but I
got unsigned nv ide drivers. How do I install the newer nv ide driver?

Use "system restore" to go back to before you installed the 6.86. Try the
drivers from motherboard site instead and see how they work

Sometimes the nvidia ide driver doesnt install because I guess you should
not restart ,as it asks, after you remove the driver before you reinstall
the new version?

an ide driver is installed anyways during setup. so yes restart and install
the new one.

General wisdom is to NOT install the Nvidia IDE driver. Use the MS
one instead. Nvidia seems to have a problem getting IDE right.
