If I am writing a paper in MS word, can I number the equations throught the
paper in such a way, that they are in the same numbering sequence and if I
delete or add any equations, all the following equation number should adjust
automatically??
I would ideally want numbers to be on the right side of the equation

MathType can do this automatically. You can also insert
references (in your text) to the equation numbers, and if you add
or delete a numbered equation, all the equation numbers and
references below the added or deleted equation renumber
automatically. You can download an evaluation copy of MathType at
the link in my signature.
