Biff did have a couple of other typos (some how dashes got added):

The OP is posting through Google Groups. *Google* adds the dashes as line
breaks!

Here's a small sample file that demonstrates this.

The problem you were having was caused by Google Groups. It adds those
dashes as line breaks. If you're not aware of this or don't know that these
added dashes don't belong in the formula then......

I noticed the dashes in your Ooops post. But you copied from a previous message
from the OP.

But if you copy the formula from the posting under the "Show original" link
in Google then it's fine.

As a precaution against the inadvertent dashes creeping into the picture,
I'd usually provide a direct link to the "Show original" page/view in Google
for the post.

That would only apply if you're accessing through Google Groups.

I'm using Outlook Express. The formula *displays* properly in OE. You don't
see the dashes until you copy the formula from the post then paste it into
its destination file.
