Number of total calculation functions

Dear Experts of Microsoft Office...

What is the total number of calculation functions in Excel 2010? Any new
ones compared to 2007? If possible, I'd appreciate it if at least someone can
list the new functions.

I'm trying to decide, should I wait for Office 2010 to be released so I can
get an even better product, or there's not going to be ANY new features in
Excel 2010 that I'm going to need for my everyday life. Please tell me in
your reply if you know what I mean.

I hear Quattro Pro X4 (by Corel) has more than 500.

What use is the number of functions if you use only a dozen or so?
Rhetorical.

Sure, if you want to be the first on your block to discover all the defects.
Personally, I make it a point to stay one or two revisions behind Microsoft.
I will try to live with Office 2003 for as long as possible. I don't like
the ribbon concept, from what I've read about it. The Office 2007 team
consciously did not put in a "classic" mode.

Apps in office 2003:
Think about it like this. What do you need to do in Excel? Excel is a
great program, pretty much everything that any normal person needs to do is
covered in there somewhere if you know what to do. Excel 2007 offers a few
things that are much nicer than excel 2003 (my favourites are 1. more rows,
2. SUMIFS formula, 3. improved conditional formatting). But I would say if
you have time to spend waiting around for Excel 2010, you probably don't
need excel at all.

Joe,
I'm with you on this. The extra functionality in excel 2007 is great but it
sucks that they hid all the functions away so that it makes it much more
difficult to explain where things are. The ribbon looks nice but the stuff
behind the ribbon is mostly the same old set of menus but less obvious to
access. I wonder if they will jazz those up in 2010.

Hi,

1. In 2003 there are about 229 spreadsheet functions and another ~100
Analysis ToolPak functions - together 329 functions.
2. In 2007 the Analysis ToolPak function no longer need to be attached and
in addition there are 12 new functions, of which only about 5 would be of use
to the average users for a total of 341 functions.
3. In 2010 - well 2010 is not out, and if we know the answer we couldn't
tell under NDA.

I don't thing many users know or could use all the built in functions -
BETADIST is one for you to work on.
