number of slides

Daniel

Hi,

Could someone enlighten me as to how I can create a footer on my master
slide that will not only indicate the current slide number but also the
total number of slide in the PowerPoint presentation, something along the
lines of :

"slide 12 of 73"

Thank you very much for the help,

Daniel

If there are 73 slides in the presentation, go the master slide, extend the
slide number text box, add "of 73" after the #. Done. If the slide count
changes (to say 74), adjust on master.

Is there no simple way of doing this, maybe using vba, without having to
resort to third party software or having to manually update the counter
myself each time I make a mod to the presentation?!?!??!?!

Sure. Use the free addin Bill's written. If you're not willing/allowed to
trust software from third parties, you'll need to learn enough VBA to do it
yourself. It's certainly possible, although messing about with PPT's slide
numbering placeholders can be frustrating.
