Number of Domain controller

Hi,

We are having only one domain controller (also a Global Catalog) in our
network and my boss wants to have one more domain controller set up.
However, would it be advisable if I also setup this second domain controller
to be a global catalog also? Just a thought to me that if we are going to
have one more domain controller as redunancy, why not do the same for global
catalog also.

Also if doing so, would there be any efficiency issues, such as slower
network or services not functioning normally? The concern is that we are
also using MS Exchange 2000 servers. Would the addition of one more domain
controller / global catalog caused unpleasant effects on the applications
such as Exchange?

Sorry for asking stupid questions.

Thanks.

You should make both of your DC's a GC. This will not cause any ill effects
at all and is actually recommended in a small domain such as yours.
