number format

Hallo,

Excel on my machine changes automatically numbers and divides them by
100 by dafault. When I type in a 3 digit number, take for example 178,
after I press enter, the cell will display the number 1,78. 15000 will
become 1500 but 0,15 will remain such.
Moreover, the column will be read as a text column and this leads to
serious problems when saving the file in dbf format.

I tried all possibilities to change the format of numbers that I could
find, but nothing seems to help.

Anyone can help me, please?

Thank you

Giulio
