NTLDR is missing

I have a two part question. First of all, I am getting
the NTLDR missing message when Windows XP tries to boot.
I have the XP upgrade and Win98 discs, and a boot disc I
formerly created. But.... when I insert the boot disc,
it takes me to the "A" prompt and I don't know ANY DOS
commands to load the programs from the CDROMs. See, I
gave up on the HD that is giving me the NTLDR missing
message and bought a new, larger HD (already updated the
BIOS to recognize large capacity HD's) thinking I could
simply start from scratch, but I can't even seem to do
that. I just have a useless P3. I really appreciate any
and all help. Thanks SO much! Shaun

Depends on your computer and how XP was originally installed. If it is a
"mass market" computer it probably came with a recovery disk (CDROM). You
will have to get into your CMOS settings and choose boot from CD as the
first option.

This may or may not work because of the HD change. Some restore CDs are
setup to work with only the equipment that came with the PC!

If you have a retail XP installation disk then you will still need to boot
from CDROM and follow the screen prompts to install the operating system.

Good Luck,
Len
