NTBACKUP restore

Eduardo

I have a Win 2000 server and I have 3 units:

C:\
D:\
E:\

I'm doing a Full ntbackup monthly (1 bkf file for all the units)
I'm doing a Diff ntbackup daily (1 bkf file for each day) too.

My question is: If I need to reinstall the server, what's the
requisite to restore the last full backup and its diff backup in the
new installation??

Can I install a Win 2000 server with only the C:\ unit or I need the
same partitions and size to restore the bkf?
ntbackup create the new partirion itself if free space on the disk??

Eduardo.-

I havn't had much luck with restoring a bootable partition using
NTBACKUP, but it works well to restore a specific file. I suggest
something like Ghost or other backup utility for 2000 or XP. Even
Partition Magic can copy an entire boot partition and restore it with
ease. I believe Microsoft has improved the backup in Vista.
