Notification of a New Email

I get a lot of Emails from 20 - 30 main people.

I have rules set-up that when I receive a mail it is put into their specific
folder. However this prevents the notification of a new mail being triggered.
Both the small envelope and the small window that appears for a few seconds
aren’t triggered.

Is there a way around this?

You could have it play a sound or pop up a message box as part of the
rule.
