Notification Area

I recently did a fresh install of Windows XP Pro. I'm
not sure if this was an issue from the installation or
something I tweaked but my notification area icons are
missing. When I go into taskbar properties, the hide
inactive icons option is greyed out. The only
notifcation area option that I have is turning the clock
on and off. Any suggestions on how to enable the
notification area or how I got it that way?

Click on "N" and scroll down to the Notification Area info.

See if anything there jibes with your problem.
