Notices popup every time I log on Windows XP Pro as a user

Every time I log my laptop as a user these messages pop up (links are to small jpg's): http://www.eyecandyprophoto.com/startup.jpg, http://www.eyecandyprophoto.com/ie.jpg, http://www.eyecandyprophoto.com/winsock.jpg.
I click the ignore button with the Remember this action checkbox checked and the next time I log on these messages appears again. My issue is not with the messages but that my actions are not saved.

Also I have scanned twice for spyware and when I load the Anti-Spyware program it prompts that I have not run a scan.

I believe because I am logged in as a user that the Anti-Spyware program is trying to modify the registry and users cannot modify the registry.

I don't have any of these issues when I log on as an administrator.

Thank You

Hi Stephen,

Let's try booting from Safe Mode (F8 at startup) and do a full scan from
Safe Mode.
Let us know if that helps.

In this version, Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta only works for users logged in
with Administrator rights. There is no support for limited-rights accounts.

Hi Ron,

I booted into safe mode and logged on as an administrator (that was my only
choice). I performed a Spyware scan then rebooted. While my laptop was in
the process of rebooting XP locked up on the shutdown screen. (I don't know
if this was related to the AntiSpyware software.) So I powered down the
laptop then turned it on. Then I logged on as a user. Opened the AntiSpyware
program and it displayed that a scan had been performed. (Note: the popups
were still there)

Thank You,

Stephen
