Notice popup problem runs off screen w/o stopping

When issuing notices with the taskbar along the left edge
(rather than at the top or the bottom), MSAS popup notices
on actions it is taking run up and down the right edge and
never stop on the screen.

This is one of the most frequently noted bugs. Left or right taskbars give
this effect, top or bottom do not. I know of no other workaround.
