Nothin is auto starting

What eve media I install, CD, DVD, Flash Cards, USB drives etc. nothing auto
starts.
Even though I have a check mark in "prompt me each time to choose an
action".

What's going on?

Try Power Toy's Tweak UI from Microsoft:

Install, run and under My Computer/Auto Play/Drives
you will find check boxes to enable/disable Autoplay.

If non of the above fix the problem,
then there is the 'Autoplay Repair Wizard'
