I am buying a new notebook. I am looking at a Toshiba S2 and an AsusM9V.
What would you recommend.

How easy is it to get maintenance for them ?
Have you seen both of them in person, to examine the LCD screen ?

Have you gone to the respective web sites, and tried to get updates
for the BIOS, drivers, manuals and so on ? Since many companies have
downloadable manuals, you can compare the manuals before buying the
products.

Type "M9" in the search box here.

Oh dear, the manuals are both Chinese ?!?

Most of the files were put up on the server on Sept29/2005.

Have you Googled the model numbers, to see how many people use
them, what problems they've got, and how easy it was to fix the
problems ?

I think a combination of examining the support network for each
product, as well as the looks and usability, are essential to
making a good choice.

Some people are so surprised when they post here, and nobody
helps them. Unpopular hardware means the user is an "orphan
in the woods" when they need help. There had better be
a service center handy, or a good free tech support hotline,
if you buy a product that nobody else uses.
