Not your typical IE refresh problem

I have a few Web pages that will not refresh in IE. This issue is not
specific to IE because while debugging, I loaded both Opera and Firefox and
they share the same problem. The specific web pages show fine on all other
computers I reviewed, except mine. There is missing code that will not pull
up on my computer in all browsers.

Example: On this page http://www.plxtech.com/about/news/articles.asp

The following three parenthesis items should have a link preceding them.
They will show on your computer, but not mine. Again, all browsers, so it
must be OS related.

Note this is a DELL Latitude D820 with the latest XP loaded.

It seems to be isolated to two web pages, but I have no way of knowing this
to be sure.

You have a code problem somewhere: From IE7, when I refresh that page, I
see a "Done but with errors on page" flash by very quickly.
The message reappears whenever I float my mouse over any of your menu
items at the top, or the graphic containing them.
Sometimes, not always, the "Done but ... " message becomes permanent and
a Refresh will not get it to go away, but I can definitely see the refresh
taking place by watching the status bar. It could be happening so quickly
for you that you just aresn't seeing hte message/s.

I glanced quickly at your source code but quickly decided it was just too
much for me to get my head around quickly enough and stopped.

It's probably time to take the page apart into stubs and minimal working
sections until you find the culprit. It's quite possibly a difference in
other machine settings that lets it work on other machines but not yours.
That's good, because if it happens to you, you know it's there and someone
else will too, eventually, so you at least know you have something to search
out.
IE7 definitely sees something it doesn't like, but manages to work around
it. That's about all I can say, I think.

Double click on the "Done, but with errors on page" on the Status bar. If
IE 7 has a Status bar, I use IE 6.

That brings up this error...

Line: 363
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code:0
URL: http://www.plxtech.com/about/news/articles.asp

Thanks but sorry. The link code is missing (only on my notebook).

Also remember that its common to Firefox and Operas as well as MS Explorer.
This tells me its the operating system. Somewhere in XP, there is a common
thread that speaks to each browser.

Clean out your Temporary Internet Files.

I have this set to Never, but I clean out the TIFs frequently.

Set this to Every visit to the page...
Internet Explorer | Tools | Internet Options | General tab |
Settings button | Check for newer versions of stored pages:

* Every visit to the page
[[Specifies that when you return to a page you viewed previously, Internet
Explorer should check to see whether the page changed since you last viewed
it. If the page has changed, Internet Explorer displays the new page and
stores it in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Note that selecting this
option can slow down browsing between pages you have already
viewed.]]

* Every time you start Internet Explorer
[[Specifies that when you return to a page you viewed previously, Internet
Explorer should not check to see whether the page has changed since you last
viewed it. Internet Explorer will check for new content only when you return
to a page that was viewed in an earlier session of Internet Explorer or on a
previous day. Selecting this option can speed up browsing through pages you
have already viewed. If you want to see the most current version of a
specific page, even when this option is selected, open the page, click the
Refresh button on the toolbar.]]

Explorer should not check to see whether the page has changed since you
last viewed it. If you select this, Internet Explorer will check for new

determines that images on the page are changing infrequently, it will check
for newer images even less frequently. Selecting this option can provide
the most speed when browsing through pages you have already viewed. If you
want to see the most current version of a specific page, even when this
option is selected, return to the page, and then click the Refresh button on
