not wanting windows mail

I have been online for about 10 years now, have never used anything like
Outlook or any other type of e-mail program outside of what my ISP provided,
and never had any problems communicating. For reasons I don't know, windows
mail started up recently, and now dominates all my e-mail, causing alot of
problems sending, citing problems with POP3 and STMP and other stuff I don't
understand. How can I make it just go away and get back to where I was before
it showed up? I can't find it in uninstall programs, and in help, it won't
tell me anything useful.

Getting it set up is reasonably easy, and a much better user experience than
Web-Mail.

To try to stop it interfering?

Go to WM>tools>accounts, and remove any accounts that have been partially
set up.

HTH?

You can't uninstall WM. If you have problems with WM concerning POP3 and
SMTP, then contact your ISP provider as its Tech support should be able
to guide you in setting up WM or resolving any issues with WM and the
ISP's email service.

You can install another email client program like Thunderbird for Vista,
which is free.

It's difficult to offer you solid advice at this point because you haven't
defined what "get back to where I was before" means in practical terms.
I'm guessing that you had some sort of webmail service, using your
browser, but that could include many possibilities, such as Hotmail or Yahoo
Mail, for starters. So, get back to us with the name of your preferred email
service, and we might be able to work up a fix for you.

I'm afraid that won't stop him from getting a setup prompt from WM, every
time he clicks on a MailTo link on a website.
