"NOT RESPONDING" PROMPT

While working in the "MY PICTURES" area I get a "NOT RESPONDING " prompt
which hangs up the computer. Computer is not recoverable even when using
"control-alt-delete". Must reboot entire system. Can anyone help.

How long are you waiting to see if the program will respond? "NOT
RESPONDING" only means at THAT MOMENT in time; if you're not waiting long
enough you might be just trying to kill it while it's working for you.
It's not unusual for a not responding message to exist for several tens
of seconds, and then to go away and the operations continue as expected.
