Not receiving some emails

I am using Windows Mail on Vista. I can only receive some emails. I can
receive emails with attachments with documents or photos. I have tried
turning off the Norton In-email scanning as per previous suggestions, but no
luck! Any other advice or ideas?

Replace Norton with the free AVG or Avast, and Windows Firewall and Windows
Defender. Disabling Norton is not enough. You need to completely uninstall
it.

I have downloaded Avast, however Norton Live update will not uninstall. Any
ideas? Do I need to uninstall Windows Firewall and Defender or can I turn
them off?

Thank you Bob, I have managed to get rid of Norton, the Vista Firewall is
off, but am battling with "Defender". How do I turn it off. I am still
receiving emails, but not ones like the "notify me replies" from this
website? Any further advice would be much appreciated.

Have you tried adding discussions.microsoft.com to your safe senders list?

Why do you want to turn WD off?
Why have you turned WF off?

WF and WD back on- sorry I missed the read advice. Will it be possible to
now see emails that came in a few days ago? I have put the address in safe
senders to see what happens.
