Not Enough Space On Temporary Disk

I got the above error when trying a "make table query". The non "make table"
version of it works fine. (As to why I would want to make a table see the
previous question I asked and the linking Access tables to ArcGIS;
"Generating an Auto Number ID field in a make table query")

I have a 80gb HD in two partitions. A 20gb C: and 60gb D:. I use the D drive
for my "My Documents" (Windows 2000 & Access 2000).
The C drive has 11 gb free, the D drive 33gb free. I have a 3ghz P4 with 1gb
RAM and my swap disk file is 1.5gb.
So what's filling up? What if anything can I change get rid of this
limitation?

Try creating the target table empty, and change the make-table query
to an Append query. It sounds like it's trying to create the entire
table in memory and running out of scratch space!
