Not Enough Server Storage - No Permissioins to Access Network Shares

B

Beau Schutz

every time i try and access my main computer from another pc on my home lan,
i get the following error message:

"you do not have permission to use this network resource" "there is not
enough server storage is available to process this command"

now, i have tried increasing my IRPStackSize registry key value (actually it
didn't exist, so i created it). so far, i've upped it incementally from 11 to 23. it was my
understanding that anything below 15 could be problematic with respect to
allowing other clients on the network to access shares on this pc. i also
read that 50 is the maximum entry for IRPStackSize value in windows xp pro
(which i have). should i just keep on upping it toward 50 until i am
allowed access, or what if even that high IRPStackSize setting doesn't do
the trick - then, obviously, somnething else is causing the problem. does
anybody have any idea(s) as to what other problems besides the 2011 event in
event viewer could possibly cause this problem? if anybody knows anything
about this issue, other than the increasing the IRPStackSize fix, i would be
very happy and grateful to hear about it. (in the newsgroup, or preferably
at the following email address) thanks in advance.
