Not all pics display

IE 6, SP1, All Q #'s installed.
On a lot of sites where pictures/diagrams are supposed to
display all that shows is a Red X in the upper left hand
corner. Have checked the settings in Advanced under
Tools/Options. Found some reference in MS site that
indicate it might have something to do with buffer size
but user can't fix buffer size. Doesn't affect all
sites -- many websites graphics display fine, other
don't. Registry keys do have gif and jpg and bmp in the
respective boxes.

Anyone got any good suggestion?

I have encountered the same problem with my Internet Explorer, and nothing i
have tried has fixed it. I have installed Netscape 6 and all the pictures now
load up under that browser, my suggestion would be to change browser

Thanks. I think that MS knows of problem and is dancing
around on it -- from MS Knowledge Base (an oxymoron if
ever there was one!):
Internet Explorer cannot recognize the end of the header
area of an image file if the end of the header area is at
the end of the buffer when the image is loading.
Therefore, Internet Explorer cannot display the image
because it cannot recognize when the image has been
completely downloaded.
Note Internet Explorer always uses its internal buffer
for loading data. The buffer size depends on the computer
environment. Therefore, the buffer size dynamically
changes. Users cannot fix the buffer size.

They go on to say there is a hotfix, but they're not sure
if it makes problem worse or not, and don't know if it'll
cost you service fee to get the fix. I'm going to see if
SP2 for WINXP fixes it -- who knows?
