Not accepting password when unlocking computer?

Hey gang,

Anyone ever see this? This has happened to me a couple of times recently.

I lock my computer, using the windows key and L. Go away for a few hours,
upon returning, try to unlock with my password, and it does not recognize
it, get the message that I have maybe forgotten or typed it wrong?

Have to reboot the computer, then all is well.

I have triple checked that caps lock is off, num lock is on, etc, and very
carefully typed the password.

I am running XP Pro SP2, with all updates.

See if using Ctrl+Alt+Del and selecting "lock workstation" exhibits the same
behaviour.

Thanks Dave, when I use ctrl+alt+del, it brings up the task manager - where
exactly , do I choose, to lock workstation?

When you do the Crtl+Alt+Del, a box should open up with your logon
information and the options to go to Task Manager, Lock Workstation, Logoff,
Shutdown, etc.
This is what I get with my Windows 2000 Pro and all my Windows XP Pro
machines.
