Not a SYSAdmin - but I play one in the office

I am desperate!
I am not a Sys admin!
But I am trying to fix a system in my office.

I have 2 Servers
Server #1 = Win 2k Server - 2 Maxtor Hard Drives
Server #2 = Win 2k Server - 1 Maxtor Hard Drive

It all started a few days ago, Monday to be exact, when I entered the office
and was unable to boot the Server #1.

BSOD with INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

Upon much online research I discovered that it was possible that I could
have a boot sector virus.
The server has (had) 2 Maxtor Hard Drives.

I figured I could take the Primary master drive off Server #1 set it as a
slave on Server #2, run Chkdsk and Anti-Virus Software.

I did this successfully - allowed chkdsk to do its thing and deteced and
removed the virusses found on the Server #1 primary master drive (set as a
slave on server #2).

Removed the slave from the second server popped it back into the original
server - and still get the same error..

????

Ok so my thought is to take the Primary Master drive off the second server
(which boots no problem) and install it on the first server as the primary
master drive.

I do this and I still received the BSOD with INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE stop
error.

Any suggestions on what I can do next? This drive boots fine on Server #2
but when installed as Primary Master on Server #1, it is undeteced by bios
and I get the boot error.
Would a faulty Motherboard give me this INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE stop error?

Second Situtation
Server #2 Win 2000
In an atempt to retrieve the data from Server #1's Primary Slave drive. I
installed the drive as a slave on Server #2.
Bios detects Both Drives,
I can see both drives in Device Manager.
But I cannot explore the drive in windows explorer.
Why not? What am I missing?

I was able to setup a third maxtor drive as a slave on this machine without
a hitch - same type of drive, etc - but I cannot get the important one to be
accessible.

Any and all helpwould be appreciated.
Thank you in Advance

There could be a problem on the motherboard or the CMOS could be scrambled.
Is there a floppy or CD drive you can boot from? Have you checked the bios
settings on Server #1? Will the setup program run? Anything look suspicious
there?

I would grab a copy of SpinRite at www.grc.com . This software is
invaluable for disk problems--has helped me out of many a pickle. If
SpinRite is unable to access the drive then I would be inclined to think
that you have an electrical problem, i.e. somethings fried. SpinRite might
help with you first situation, also.

I'm no sysadmin either--I play one at home. Sorry I don't have more
suggestions. Hope something I've said helps.
