Norton wont auto enable

I realize this isnt really a Microsoft problem,but I have
recieved help before with a similar problem.I was working
on getting my tv out card to work,and had to shut off my
Norton 2003 to dl the drivers,when I tried to turn Norton
back on,it said not only was auto protect off,but I had
the an error in email,which I didnt touch,Ive tried every
way to enable auto protect,but it wont!I click enable and
it doesnt change.Clueless about the email scanning as
well,did I get a virus,I ran a scan and it picked up
nothing,any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had a similiar problem with norton when it was disabled on the start up menu ie: clean boot, go to RUN type MSCONFIG click Ok click on START UP tab ( top rhs
and make sure the box NAVAPW32 has a tick in it, it it's empty click in the box and re-start your pc...basic answer but it may help
