Norton start up message

I am getting a message box on the screen after start up saying "Notron
Antivirus 2005 does not support the repair feature. Please uninstall and
reinstall"
Norton is working OK so I am puzzled by the message and uninstalling and
reinstalling is a hassle.

I'd start by running msconfig.exe to see what commands were listed in
the various Startup locations and what are their parameter. Could be
you specified a command-line parameter that is no longer valid for the
2005 version (i.e., you upgraded but the command didn't get replaced).

If you had checked Symantec's online support knowledgebase and searched
on "repair" for the 2005 version of Norton Anti-Virus, you would've seen
their KB article listed there whose title matches the error message you
see and which has 3 possible solutions.
