Norton IS 2004

Derek

I recently installed Norton Internet Security 2004 and
everything works well. After a couple of days then it
takes an age to login and the cpu usage is showing 100%.
The process using the usage is 'system'. If i uninstall
NIS 2004 and reinstall my NIS2003 everything is fine. But
the same thing happens when i try to reinstall 2004. i
have scrolled thru symantec support but no luck there.
Any ideas would be appreciated

From Symantec:

"Computer restart is slow after installing Common Client 1.09 update

Situation:
You ran LiveUpdate and downloaded the Common Client 1.09 update. After
restarting the computer, you notice that it takes much longer for Windows to
open than it did before you installed the update.

Solution:
Symantec is investigating this problem. The cause is unknown, and there is
no solution at this time. This document will be updated when new information
becomes available or a solution is found."

I am having the same problem. I installed another 256MB
and I will reload it again. My understanding that it is a
memory hog.
