Non-numerical index entries are out of order

Hello,
The index I'm working is completely non-numerical, and has a few of the entries that are
not in the proper alphabetical order. I've checked all the entries to make sure that everything
is normal, no additional spaces or other strange business. I've also deleted both the incorrect entries and the ones around them, and then reindexed them, but to no avail

What could be causing this strange problem? Any one have a clue

Thanks in advance,
Best

The only clue I can suggest is possible document corruption. See

Check the Language box on the Index tab of the dialog that you use to
create the index; make sure it is set as you expect.

What entries are out of order?
