No video on Asrock P4VT8+ m/b

i`ve had this Asrock P4VT8+ m/b for a while but no cpu to install. Got a
3GHz prescott P4 recently and fitted it. Everything seems to boot up, all
fans spin, optical drives light up, hdd initialises but nothing outputs to
the monitor. I`ve tried various gfx cards (all radeon cards - 9700, 9600,
9250) and tested the monitor. All work in other systems. I had 1GB of ram in
it (1x512 and 2x256), took all out and put the 512 in slot 1. reset the bios
every time i changed something. No dice. Am i missimg something before i
replace the m/b? any help appreciated.
Sorry about x-posting, trying for max input :)

PSU not up to the task?
You are currently using an AGP vid card, have your tried a PCI version?
AGP settings are out of wack in the cmos?, try clearing and set bios to
defaults.

1.Do you have manuel for MB that may require a jumper setting for new cpu?

2.Does MB support cpu.

3.Did you disable on board video in bios?

Do you have an on board video?
If you seem to be saying that the on board video in bios is set boot, then
if you are using a video card you need to disable on board graphics!

this has happened to me 2 times now and both times it was the cpu chip
dead.
try and borrow a working cpu before swapping anything else.

You, the builder, or the equipment itself was likely doing
something wrong then, most likely the heatsink wasn't making
good contact or the board was defective. The odds of two
dead CPUs without external cause are astronomically high.
The odds of not getting a heatsink on right 2 times in a row
or frying 2nd CPU with defective motherboard, MUCH higher.

No these cpu failures were 3 years apart.
i have an old athlon1.ghz cpu that i keep for test purposes only that
works fine and when placed in the dead comps it fired both up
instantly and so i replaced the dead cpus and had no problems or
recalls on those comps.
