No video card / display driver listed in Device Manager

During a driver update, my system is no longer listing a display driver is
Display Properties settings and in Device Manager

All I have is a VGASave display driver and I would like to have my nVidia
Gefoce FX 5200 back. I have tried the original drivers (CD 44.03) and the
latest nVidia drivers (45.23) but my vidoe card dos not appear in the Device
list(s). However, I still can see my Windows XP info. It is just that the
VGASave driver is limited.

What can I do, with out a XP re-install???

NO! I even tried to use an old PCI video card, which "seemed" to have also
failed!

Anyone else with more help/suggestions???

From a previous thread today....
Looks like you need to re-load your AGP drivers.
Check device manager. Most likely you're missing a Display Adapter.
Check System Device and see if you have VIA CPU to AGP Controller listed.
If not then you have to re-install them depending on the chipset you have.
Go here for the drivers

I did find those drivers, but still did not help.

I then decided to proceed with a repair re-install of Windows XP. I first
"cloned" my hard drive to another unit and did do the re-install. All
"seems" to be fixed.
