When I view My documents folder and select view thumbnails all my text
disappears. I see the thumbnails but none of my folders are labeled with
text nor
are my word documents labeled with text. Can anyone help?

Common problem. Goodness knows why but do this:
Change the view to any other except thumbnails. Now, click on view and
holding the SHIFT key down, select thumbnails. This should get the
thumbnail labels back.

Open your My Documents folder and do the following.

Click on View in the toolbar at the top of the window.
Change the view settings from Thumbnails to another option such as Icons.
Next, hold down the Shift key and change the view settings back to Thumbnails.
The names of the files should now be visible.

Good luck
