Okay, so I've no sound coming from my speakers @ all. No winamp,
Windows media player sound, sounds under my control panel wont play
wavs nohing. There are no bangs in my device mngr, I've checked double
and triple checked wirin on my MoBo. No front panel and rear panel jack
have output. Wavs and mp3 seem to be playing fine. Nothing is muted. My
speakers work on other system in house other speakers wont work on my
system. Just no sound at all. Over the weekend My HDD died, so I
installed on new drive, got all the proper chipset and audio drivers
(ac'97 combo wdm). everything is the same (system file wise) on the new
drive. Any body have any frikin idea what I may try. Please dont reply
with something like check your device mngr, as I have stated I've
ripped out the drivers and tried evey thing fom VIA's website. Its a
MSI k8m800 mobo with VIA ac'97 audio. I've tried evey logical thing. I
do believe its hardware related, but I may be wrong. Any help please -

Since you've got onboard audio, go into your BIOS and disable it. Put in
a PCI sound card. You can get a decent PCI sound card for under $20USD.
