No sound from Musicmatch, real player, system start up

I hope somebody out there could help me out with this. It's driving me nuts!
All of a sudden, I stopped getting sounds from any program but windows media
player. One day, I woke up, booted up my computer and all my sounds were gone
except for WMP. Musicmatch, real player, quicktime...none of them works. I
don't hear my start up and shut down sounds either.
Does anyone have any idea why?
Thanks,
Selin

Try this:
1. Open control panel
2. Choose 'Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices'
3. Choose 'Adjust the System Volume'
You should see the Sound and Audio Device Window.
4. Click 'Advanced'
You should see the Volume control panel.
5. Make sure none of the input devices (line-in, cd player, etc) have mute
checked. Also set the sliders to midway, not all the way to the down.

Try this first. Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply.
The problem was with my speakers actually. It is fixed now.
