No sound after SP2 update

I installed the WinXp SP2 upgrade Final and after the
install and reboot, I no longer have any sound. Windows
reports that my sound card is installed and working
correctly, but no sound.

I have a Creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1

Everything was working prior to the upgrade.

Anyone have or hear of this problem??

Same here.

After installing the Live drivers from Creative, all working fine.

I did install the latest drivers from Creative, but that
did not change anything.

I still have no sound.

Open the Volume control.
Start/All Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume Control
Make sure none are muted and all are up.

Check under Advanced.
Is "Digital output only" On or Off? Change it.

Otherwise go to the sound card manufacturers website and get the
latest Windows XP drivers.

I have onboard sound, and it works, but 90% of the time when I boot Windows,
it does not show the volume icon in the system tray. I go to sound options,
turn it off then back on, and it will show. I restart, and it will show. Any
time after that, it has a 90% chance of failing to appear again and if it
fails, it will never come back unless I tell it to disable/enable again.

I must have had a brain fart or something. I totally
forgot about the Digital Output checkbox

I also use creative labs soundblaster live.. And now after doing the
upgrade.. I have NO sound. Also it seems like it takes programs even longer
to load and move through web pages while surfing... Anyone else notice these
problems..
