No Sond from Modem or Media Monkey

For some reason when my modem connects I don't hear the usual
squealing. Also Media Monkey which is like MusicMatch does not have
any sound when playing music. Windows Media Player works and so do
other sounds.

The modem's sound is turned on in the properties.

Any Ideas?

For the modem, go to Control Panel, select, Device Manager, click the plus
sign next to Modem, right click your modem, select properties, go to the
Modem tab, move "Speaker Volume" to high.

As far as Media Monkey, according to their website, Media Monkey has not
been tested on Vista. You should realize, the entire sound subsystem was
changed on Vista, thus effecting soundcards and sound applications. You may
need to wait for an updated version. It's possible this might be a driver
related issue, so check your card manufacturer's website for the latest
Vista compatible drivers, check to see if they are full featured versions or
only support basic functions and any other disclaimers. Note: even with up
to date, full featured drivers, because Media Monkey has not been certified
or tested as Vista compatible, it still may not work for you on your setup.

Regarding the Modem - I already did that still no sound.

I figured that MediaMonkey was suffering the same problem

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Nope, different issues in that regard. The modem sound does not come from
the speakers attached to your soundcard and is unrelated. If you've moved
the slider all the way, then its likely a driver issue. Check the modem
manufacturer's website for the latest Vista compatible drivers. If you have
the latest, you'll need to contact the modem manufacturer.
