No sleep mode??

I have an inexpensive HP laptop (F730US)

For various reasons I am considering leaving my laptop always on (sleep and
hibernate modes turned off). My question is, if I do that would I be
significantly reducing the life of my computer? Any other pluses or
minuses?

Thanks in advance... Bob

Depends on the design of that laptop and how hot it gets in the hottest weather.

Some laptops do get stinking hot in the hottest weather if the house isnt airconditioned etc.

If it catches fire when you arent around to notice that, it can burn the house down etc.

Sounds like you're saying it should be okay in an air conditioned house. Am
I right?

Not with particularly badly designed laptops. Should be fine with that one tho.
Am I right?

Partly. And it obviously depends on whether you leave the AC
on all the time, even when you are of the house all day etc.

And we've all seen that this is not just an improbable and theoretical
scenario. So if it were me, I'd remove the battery to avoid this. And get a
smoke detector ;)
