No Send/Receive

George

Greetings to all,

I had a hard disk crash and after installing a new one,
installed Windows XP and Office XP (also using Norton
Personal Firewall.) Interestingly, Outlook (not Outlook
Express) won't Send or Send/Receive mail. In fact, while
the Send/Receive button IS on the toolbar, the
Send/Receive choice on the Tools menu no longer appears!

I'm buffaloed! Mystified! I checked the Tools/Options
and looked all around and can't figure this one out ...
though I'm sure I'll be embarrassed by an easy solution :)

Thanks for any and all help.

Do you have your mail account installed and have you used the Test Account
Settings button? Do you get any errors using that check?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, George asked:

I'd be a fool to admit such a foolish thing, wouldn't I?
So I will plead the 5th and go fix things up.

Thanks.

It happens more often than I care to remember.
