No scan on Lexmark 3580 All in One

Gerry

This is the first time I have tried to scan on it. It's fairly new to me.
Printing and copying works fine. I get a message on the printer unit screen
saying .. Downloading Application List..
On my screen I get the message ...Scan was not successful .. with several
option e.g restart. None of the options work.
They on the printer screen it says ..Cannot retrieve application list.

Any ideas?

Thanks Gerry

You don't mention which operating system you are working with, but in
general, Lexmark's multi-function units experience a difficult birthing
process during installation, as there are a lot of drivers and software
applications which have to work with one another, and the Lexmark's tend
to be less robust than some.

I suggest you uninstall the drivers, re-read the installation process to
make sure you do it in the proper order, download the most current
drivers from your unit, and reinstall, being careful to follow all
notices regarding the installation process (as to what order things need
to be installed, what needs to be disabled or turned off prior to
installation, and making sure the unit is not plugged in until it is
required).

Not necessarily. It's like going to a doctor for chest pains. If you
go to a cardiac guy, he'll probably tell you its your heart and test for
that. If you go to a rheumatologist, he will probably look for muscle
and attachment issues, if you go to an allergist, he may send you to see
if you have asthma or other allergies, etc.

The drivers in these multi-function units are all interconnected.
