Can someone please help me? I tried to install SP2 with a cd I received from
Microsoft. I was having trouble with the games at Club Pogo so I uninstalled
Java and reinstalled it but it doesn't work. The icon is on my screen but
it's not in the control panel and the games still don't work or my Limewire
doesn't work. I would apprecieate any help as my husband plays Pogo all the
time.

G'Day Rosalie,

You sound a tad confused -
.........The icon is on my screen but it's not in the control the control
panel'
- which Icon?
.....................my Limewire doesn't work.
- only bad people use Limewire! However MY Limewire worked ok with
Sp2, although SP2 does limit what are known as half-open ports. I don't
use Limewire any more though, 'cos I'm a Bit_ born-again _Torrent.
....I would apprecieate (sic) any help as my husband plays Pogo all the
time.
- now that your husband is unable to play Pogo, he may become more
interesting...maybe even more interesting than Limewire!! Does
Club Pogo have any suggestions?

Perhaps you could try another game......

Hi Maurice, I will study the page but my problems all started when SP2
wouldn't download. It goes through all the process and at the end it says
access denied. I tried to reinstall Sun Java and it says it's there but it's
not in the control panel.

Hi Rosalie,

Review the contents of the service pack log. C:\Windows\Svcpack.log or C:\WINNT\Svcpack.log
(post a copy of it here, as needed)

Review & try this first
"Access Denied" error when trying to install SP2

Take a look at this page, in the section "Access denied"
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm#Cannot_install_Service_Pack_2

See MS article 873148
You receive an "Access is denied" error message when you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1
