No Read Receipts

You would think this is a simple problem but I have a user using Outlook 2007
but he is not getting read or delivery receipts even though it is set up to
request those. I've gone into Options and into the Tracking Options and
setup to request Read and Delivery Receipts but it just doesn't work. He is
able to e-mail without a problem.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Read Receipts can be denied by the recipient, depending upon the version of
Outlook that they use. Also, many mail servers will not send the recipient's
responses.

I agree with your thoughts but this is not the case. We are both using the
same e-mail server, same Outlook 2007, same setup. If I send him e-mail, he
gets prompted for the read receipt to send back to me. Works perfectly. But
if he sends an e-mail to me, I don't get prompted for the read receipt to
send back to him.

Both Outlooks are set up identically - I set it up. Both are on Windows XP
Pro boxes and I have other users set up identically and they work.

I have even unchecked the boxes for requesting read receipts, restarted
Outlook, rechecked the boxes, restarted Outlook, and still nothing.

Now how's that for puzzling. Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Did you disable the prompt? Tools, options, email options, tracking.

You can also add the read receipt requested field to the view - if its
checked the problem is your system.
