no RD connection, despite XP Pro on both

Not sure what the problem is. I have XP Pro on two machines. The computers
can see each other as part of the Microsoft Windows Network, Workgroups that
they are both in. The receiving machine is set to allow RD connections in
the Firewall settings. The RD is checked in Remote Desktop under System in
Control Panel. In the client machine, I go to the RD Connection app, and
when trying to find the host computer, I get "The Home domain/workgroup does
not contain any Terminal servers." From what I've seen here in the posts, I
understand that Terminal servers were the old, pre XP versions of remote
desktop connections. So it makes me wonder whether something is wrong here,
or MS just didn't update the terminology in the error messages. Either way,
I am stumped as to why this isn't working. At one time, this all worked
fine. But this was before several reinstalls over the past year or so, and
updates to service packs and such.

Any help?

well, problem workaround was that I just entered the name directly for the
host computer, and entered the workgroup name. But I am still confused as to
why it would give me the error of not being able to find the host in "browse"
mode, despite the fact that when I look for it in Network Places, I can
easily find it in the Windows network.

Thanks for any comment on this.

You normally can not "browse" for RD hosts in a work group environment. Call
using either the local LAN IP address or NetBIOS name of the PC you want to
access/control or apply this hack...

Reboot each PC after making the change...

Browsing for PCs to connect to with Remote Desktop is not supported in
Workgroups.
