NO OPEN

If I go into "my Computer" and do a right click, instead of opening it goes
to the search promp screen. If I do a left click the drop down menu has got
"search" in bold letters at the top instead of "open". I can still click on
"open" and it does, its just not opening on a right click. How do I change
the default action back to "open"?

Type in Start Run
regsvr32 /i shell32

Use Mouse in Control Panel to fix your mouse buttons.

The mouse works fine on everything else, like folders, programs ect ect. Its
just when I click on my Drives only.

If the buttons were reversed I would have the problem when I clicked on
anything. And I don't. Just when clicking on drives ONLY.

Let me re explain my problem. I have it reversed. If I am in "my computer"
and I do a LEFT click on one of the drives, it opens the searchresults screen
instead of opening the drive. If I do a RIGHT click and the drop down menu
opens, like it should, the Search option is at the top and in bold rather
than "open". Soryy for the confusion.

Sorry I have explained the problem backwards. If I do a LEFT click on a drive
it goes to the search results screen. If I do a RIGHT click I get the drop
down menu, like I should, and the search option is at the top and in bold,
not the open option like everything else. Folders and programs ect. work
normally . Only the drives are wrong.

I've just noticed that I have explained the problem backwards. If I do a LEFT
click on a drive it does not open, instead I get the search results screen.
If I do a RIGHT click I get the drop down menu like I should and the search
option is at the top of the list in bold rather than the open option. Now I
have worded it correctly.

Did you run the command that David suggested? Click Start> Run and type it
into that box.

answer on how to fix still applies no matter what button does what. Type what I said into Start Run.

It worked. Do you know what caused it?

It's usually caused by editing the entries for Folders in Folder Options>
File Types - either directly or by using a customizing program that messes
around with those entries.
