no more hotmail plugin after XP SP2 in windows messenger

wendela

I used to have a hotmail notification plugin working in
windows messenger.
After the installation of Service pack 2 for XP it's gone.
I also have the MSN messenger and there it's still working.
How do I get it back?

Greetings Wendela,

To restore this functionality, the Windows Messenger version within SP2 does not have support
for Add-ins which is required for MSN support within Windows Messenger. As such, in order to
get this functionality back, you'll either need to downgrade to the previous version of
Windows Messenger:

Thank you for your quick reply Jonathan!
I saved the setup file, but when I run it it said that the
newer version has some functionalities that will be lost,
so I didn't continue just in case. Which are they? I only
saw that a totalcontactslist is added and that the hotmail
plugin is out.

I think you may be talking about this plug-in;

Happened to me, got a new computer with service pack 1,
tried to use windows messenger and check email, didn't
work and the plug-in wasn't found so downloaded if off
there. Hope it helps
