no icons or start bar on user account

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this.

After installing Windows XP I created two user accounts, both
administrators. When I open one account, Lauren, nothing shows up but the
wallpaper. The other account, Jason, works fine. I created a Lauren2 account
which also works fine. I also tried deleting the Lauren account and
recreating it but it still only shows me wallpaper.

Any ideas? Thanks.

When you deleted the Lauren account, did everything remove under the
C:\Documents and Settings Lauren folder?
Did the Lauren folder disappear?

Make sure Show Hidden files and folders is on for your account when
checking.
