No file names in search

When I perform a search in the Search Results window, showing any kind
of icon view (instead of list, details, or tiles), the results show up
without file names visible. This only happens when I run a search from
the Search Results window (Windows Key + F), not when I run a search
from a folder window.

How can I get Search Results to show me file names in icon views?

Switch to LIST view (or details)

I don't want to switch to list or details view; I want to display file
names under the icons like in every other search (or normal) folder.

Then I don't know.
I haven't seen too many professionals playing with icons view, it's
usually used by people who don't know heck about computers or use them
for writing, art, etc....
Technical people will always prefer List or Details view, you know why?
We deal with hundreds of thousands files, I have one folder for example
containing 140,000 files.
Processing this ocean of information in Icon view would be insane, I
even remember disliking Sun SOlaris at one time back in mid 1990's when
it didin't offer a list view.
Everything takes forever and then some more in Icon view.

But since it's your preference... deal with it.

Congratulations. Perhaps your time would be better spent if you went off
and did something technical. I just want to search for pictures and see
file names under the thumbnails.

What an arrogant response.
The _vast majority_ of users are not "computer professionals".
Let me restate that.
"Computer professionals" are the tip of the iceberg.
End users are the iceberg.
They are the people who, through their expenditures, keep us computer
professionals employed.

The search feature on Vista is just one example of why the _worldwide
concensus_ of Vista is what it is.

Excellent design works for all levels of users.
You need to realize who you are commenting to. Stan can hardly keep up
and has major mental issues. He can't even figure out how to set his
computer clock correctly.

Goto Mythicsoft and get their:
a) AgentRansack (free, but development stopped in 2003, wtill works yet not
nearly as good as FileLocatorPro) or
b) FileLocatorpro (best, but costs approx $40?)

WinVista search is failure comparing to WinXP., get rid of it; many
alternatives exists; however Mythicsoft appears to be a leader.

I prefer Super Finder XT to Agent R. It lets me act on the search
results...
