No drive access

WindowsXP Pro Sp2

It may not be connected to the problem but a technician installed a new power
supply and now I cannot access either the A or D drive.

I get the message:

"The floppy disk controller reported an error that is not recognized by the
floppy disk driver."

There was no problem opening either of the drives before the new part was
installed.

First make sure the cables are properly connected, the ribbon cables
colored side should be connected to align with Pin1 on the IDE channel and
drive.

If they are properly seated/connected try removing the devices from Device
Manager in Safe Mode, reboot and Windows will redetect/reinstall them.

It sounds like he accidentally loosened up the floppy and cdrom drive
cables.
