No Domain Server available to validate password

Hey guys,
Whenever I try to login to the domain on a client's Win 98SE computer, I get
a "No Domain server was available to validate your password. You may not be
able to gain access to some network resources." message.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Keep in mind that the main Domain server is running Windows 2k server. The
problem only happens to a few computers on the network. I probably have 20
computers on the network; 9 are on Windows XP and they run perfect. 11 are
windows 98SE machines and about 5 of them are having the problem. I have
tried to duplicate the TCP/IP settings from one of the working machines but
still no luck. Can someone please help me out. Thanks in advance.

See if you can ping the DC's IP address from the command prompt on the
affected client computers. If it doesnt work, run an "ipconfig /all" and see
if there are any problems with the IP address, default gateway, etc. If you
can ping the server, but still can't login, make sure that the DC has a
record of those PCs' names in AD, and if it does, then another option is to
try adding the IP address of the server to the hosts file on the
workstations located in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc.

Thanks guys... I figured it out. I just assigned the 98 machines static IP's
and that fixed it. Thanks for the help.
